Rules and regulations for GreenLinknet.
as of May 18, 1993.
The following rules and regulations must be abided by all nodes
within GreenLinknet and violating nodes will be dealt with
accordingly . Hereafter GreenLinknet will be referred to as the
"NET"
Hereafter the "GreenLink Coordinator" will be referred as the
"GLC"
1) a) No handles shall be used when carrying echos within the net.
b) All nodes will be held directly responsible for their users
actions.
c) Absolutely no vulgarity will be tolerated!
d) No one who is not an official Net member shall transmit any mail other
than netmail within this network. The GLC has the right to ban nodes from
the net for these abusive actions.
2) No sexual harassment will be tolerated by any user, or member of
the net.
3) All nodes shall carry all "Required" echos implemented by the GLC.
Hereinafter all optional echos are of the discretion of individual nodes.
4) All nodes will ensure that messages will remain curteous to all users
who have access and read net messages.
5) Hubs that are assigned by the GLC are resposible for administration
of node numbers and are empowered to withdraw any node number beneath
them as warranted by violation of this policy.
6) Nodes or hubs that wish to put forth a proposal shall do so in the
GREEN_POL echo for review by all nodes to be put to a democratic vote.
7) All hubs are encouraged to assist nodes that require need for
technical assistance to the best of their ability, but are not required
to do so. (Goodfellow protocol)
8) All hubs are encouraged to recruit new nodes, but are not required to
do so. Recruitment is done at the hub's descretion.
9) Requests for new echos will be submitted by all nodes to their hubs,
which in turn will forward it to their regional co-ordinators. Regional
co-ordinators shall review and make public the proposal to all area hubs
for democratic vote.
10) Degrading or derogatory echo's will be exempt from this procedure as
the very nature of them are offensive to the majority. ie ADULT_ECHOS,
SLAM_CONFERENCES which encourages a negative atmosphere within the net.
****Complaints****
Proper procedure for filing a complaint will be done in correct
protocol procedure. All complaints shall be directed to the hub that
feeds your node. The hub will in turn attempt to resolve the problem
to the best of her/his ability. In the event that there is
a conflict or inability to resolve the problem the hub will refer the
complaint to the region co-ordinator. The region co-ordinator to the
best of her/his ability will try to resolve the matter. In the event
there is an conflict or inability to reslove the problem then the
matter shall be referred to the zone co-ordinator. Which in turn will
attempt to resolve the problem to the best of her/his ability. In the
event there is a conflict or inability to resolve the problem the
zone co-ordinator will refer the matter to the GLC which has the
final decision in the matter.
*****Costs*****
GreenLinknet is a free local Network and shall run cost free to all
nodes that subscribe to it within a toll free range.
Out of province fees shall be shared by all nodes that carry a
particular echo, and which fees will be collected by the region
co-ordinator, not to exceed the cost of the initial cost of the long
distance charges. All attempts shall be made to reduce or eliminate
all costs by use of hubs that may be located within a toll free range
of a regional co-ordinator.
Over seas fees costs at this time will not apply until such time the
condition requires a fair cost sharing schedule.
The GLC reserves the right to append, delete, change or modify
this policy as the situation warrants.
Regards.
